In the summer of 2021, amidst the echoes of a year lost to the pandemic, I embarked on a mission to reignite the spark of live entertainment with "The Lost Summer" concert series. The vision was born from a yearning to recapture the community and belonging I cherished at live shows, a cornerstone of my identity since my teenage years. With the future of live events shrouded in uncertainty, I saw a glimmer of opportunity to revive the scene in an innovative, venue-less format.

"The Lost Summer" was not just an event; it was a tribute to the communal spirit of music, comedy, and local cuisine that had been put on pause. My goal was audacious yet simple: to curate a lineup devoid of big names but rich in talent, capable of drawing crowds willing to pay for the experience. This series was a nod to the summer of 2020, a season that felt like it never happened, and a homage to Wes Wilson's iconic concert posters for the legendary Bill Graham, whose legacy we lost in 2020.

Blending digital marketing with the nostalgic touch of old-school paper flyers, I set out to capture the attention of those yearning for a return to live entertainment. The result was a psychedelic poster that stood out in a sea of digital noise, paying homage to Wilson's style but with a modern twist for legibility. My backyard transformed into an electrifying venue, complete with a wild lighting show, an expansive stage, and, of course, an epic sound system. The timing was impeccable, coinciding with Governor Newsom's announcement of the world reopening

In a bold move, we secured a weed vendor sponsorship, navigating the complexities of cannabis sales at live events. By partnering with a licensed cannabis delivery company, we created a loophole that allowed attendees to peruse and order products on-site for immediate delivery, courtesy of Gold Seal. This innovative approach not only provided financial support for our artists but also added a unique element to the concert experience.

Despite skepticism about people's readiness to gather, I pressed on. The lineup featured brilliant comedians and a dynamic house band, creating a show that transcended the typical venue experience. It was a modern vaudeville, with musicians playing walk-up tunes for comedians and engaging the audience with captivating covers.

"The Lost Summer" was more than an event; it was a testament to creativity, resilience, and the unyielding spirit of live entertainment. It showcased that with innovation and determination, we could bring people together once again for unforgettable nights of music, laughter, and community.
